We have so many things to be thankful for, we could never fully express our gratitude to God for all of His blessings. Things that we so easily take for granted and expect to have are a luxury in other parts of the world. We are thankful for the food on our table, the clothes on our backs, and the roof over our heads. While some people stand in line for days and literally fight on Black Friday for the latest electronic gadgets, others in the world can only dream of clean water, sustainable food, good heath, electricity, and indoor plumbing. We are thankful for the access we have to God’s Word in America. Many people in Papua New Guinea have never even heard of God or of His Son Jesus Christ. Has God given to us so that we may have more? Or has God given to us that we may share with others? The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 9:11a, “You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way”. God has given all that we have (compassion, forgiveness, time, finances, His love, His Word, His Son) to be shared with others. For what purpose? The Bible answers that question in the remainder of the verse, “which through us will produce thanksgiving to God”. God has given to us, that we might share with others, so that God’s name will be glorified. We are on the verge of leaving for Papua New Guinea to share what God has given us; our lives, His love, His Word, and His Son Jesus Christ, so that His name will be made known and glorified among the nations. This holiday season, consider how God has enriched you that you may give to others and bring glory to His name.
Our departure date for PNG is right around the corner. We have completed all of our ABWE training (see pictures above) and have our medical clearance. We should be receiving our visa’s mid-January. We are at 98% of our support, and we are making preparations for our final shipment of belongings. Between now and then our daughter Lauren will be graduating from Moody Bible Institute in Spokane, WA. on December 11th and she will be getting married to Aaron, a godly young man, on December 19th. Pray that God will be glorified every step of the way. If you would like to help with the final 2% of our support, click on the “Come Join Our Team” link on the right side of this page.
Coffee makes a great Christmas gift, especially coffee from Papua New Guinea. The GBBC (Goroka Baptist Bible College) Coffee Project is a unique opportunity to both give and help at the same time. The high elevation, tropical rains, shaded gardens, rich soil, and hand-picking make this a high quality coffee. All of the proceeds from the coffee are used to support education and ministry training for the students at the college. If you would like to find out more about this opportunity, ask us or click this link, GBBC Coffee Project Link.
