Merry Christmas

We have had a jam packed December full of emotions!  We traveled to Spokane, Washington to spend a few days with Lauren and Aaron before Lauren’s graduation from Moody Bible Institute. Then we flew home with Lauren and Aaron to finish up final details for their wedding seven days later. It was a great time of joy as people gathered from all over the United States to celebrate the union of Aaron and Lauren in matrimony.

Aaron’s family started arriving from Alaska and New Mexico and Aaron and Lauren’s friends from Washington and surrounding states soon after.  We were truly blessed to get to know many new friends and welcome the Vigilante family and friends into the missions home. Thank you to so many friends and family who helped with Lauren and Aaron’s wedding to make it possible! One big theme throughout the wedding was how marriage is about honoring God and it is to reflect Christ’s love for His Bride, the Church. It was a joy to have brunch with Lauren, Aaron, and his family the day after the wedding and then be able to send the love birds off to their honeymoon near Glacier National Park in Montana.

Our friends Bob and Polly Morrow and their daughters Kelsey and Kaity, as a family, have been battling the jaw cancer diagnosis Bob received 17 months ago. Eight surgeries later they are still battling this disease. Spots on his lungs continue to grow. Our dear friends have looked to God and depended on Him for strength. Please continue to pray for them through this.
Sometimes at Christmas, we think of Christ as a baby and focus on the joy of His birth but tend to leave Jesus in the manger and not look forward to His Resurrection. This past week we learned of the home-going of a dear brother in Christ, Wayne Crohn. Though we will miss Wayne terribly, Wayne and his wife Margaret are models of how to run the Christian race well. Wayne’s life pointed to Christ and now he is where believers long to be. For “we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord” (2 Cor. 5:8).

We are only a couple of months away from leaving for Papua New Guinea. Our sending church, Bethesda Baptist, will be having a mission’s conference Feb. 19th – 22nd. Our commissioning service will be Sunday night the 21st. All are welcome to join us in this celebration. We are only a mere $85/month away from being fully supported. If you would like to help us meet our goal, please click thislink, or contact us for more information. Our account number is 0135781

We pray God’s blessings on you and your family this Christmas season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior and await His imminent return!

Merry Christmas,
Phil and Jan
