Ready, Set….

Visa Update

As of today, April 1st, we are still waiting for our visas. Our Field Directory, Bill Smith, has our work permits in hand and we have been informed that our visas are in the final stage of processing. This processing could take up to 15 business days. They are trying to expedite this process and the visas could be completed as early as next Monday, April 4th. After that, we still have to send our passports out to Washington DC for the visas to be installed, purchase airplane tickets, do our final packing, etc. We anticipate departing within 1-2 weeks after our visas are available. We are very thankful for everyone that has been praying for this last step before we depart for Papua New Guinea. We are confident that we will be able to leave sometime during the month of April. Please continue to pray!

Happenings

We are nearly finished with our last Moody Bible Institute class, a study of Romans. It has been very exciting to dig deep into God’s Word and study some of the doctrines that form the foundation of the Christian faith. We have 3 more lessons which we anticipate completing before our departure. We have also been visiting with friends, family, and supporting churches. It has been great to reconnect with many people that we have not seen for some time. We have also had the opportunity to ministry one more time to the elementary grade children during chapel time and to the Awana clubbers from our sending church Bethesda Baptist.

It was a real blessing being able to share Easter with family and friends as we celebrated our risen Savior, Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. The resurrection is central to our faith. Had He not risen, our preaching is in vain and our faith is in vain. But our faith is not in vain. We can have hope and assurance of salvation because Jesus, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. Are you eagerly waiting for Him? Do you have hope and assurance of your salvation? When your hope fails you, ask yourself this question. He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? ~Romans 8:32

Update From The Field

The GBBC (Goroka Baptist Bible College) incorporation is almost totally complete.  They have to advertise it in the National Gazette and a National Newspaper  for a few weeks to make sure nobody contests the incorporation and then it is done.  The work structure of ABWE is finally completed allowing our missionaries to stay in the country.  It was a book of paperwork but our field director, Bill Smith, got it all done.  Pray now as it goes through the processing.
